US and Vietnamese Navy and Marine Corps Insignia and Plaques

2. A set of two presentation binders presented to Admiral Ulysses S. Grant Sharp concerning his time as the US Military Advisor to SEATO, which was made up of our allies during the Vietnam War. The first binder is titled "South-East Asia Treaty Organization- Military Advisors". It contains 6 photos and 5 autographs of other members. The second binder is titled "SEATO" Military Advisors Twenty-Eight Conference Wellington March 1968" and his Admiral Sharp's personal presentation copy. It contains an autographed letter to Sharp from Kt. Gen. Sir Leonard Thornton, New Zealand's Chief of Staff at the time,  and 23 8x10" photos of various members and ceremonys surrounding the event. 14.  PCF 101 Cruise Book from 1966, rare Swift Boat cruise book, softcover, printed in country- has photos of all boats and crews, boat captains are named. Has 2 binder holes in the top from being in a binder.- $175.00

15. Participant- Southeast Asia War Games, from Vietnam USMC vet,, Thai machine embroidered- mint-$65.00

16. Interesting presentation piece to a SEAL/ UDT Lt. Commander dated June 72-July 73. It is a heavy cast brass model of a diving helmet, placed over a lamp on a stand ( it works). The vet's name was W.H. Otte. Unusual item - $150.00

17. Very rare USMC Recon patch, circa mid 1960's. US made, 3 3/4" in diameter, nice "Panzer skull" motif- $175.00

18. A 1960's vintage US made patch of UDT Team 11. These patches were made at tailor shop in Coronado, CA to cater the to SEAL and UDT trade during the time. UDT 11 is perhaps best known as the recovery team aboard USS Hornet that recovered the crew of Apollo 11, which included the first two men to walk on the moon. - $50.00

21. A Big Daddy Roth decal, circa 1960's, for the US Navy SEABEE's, copyright on the decal is 1965, have'nt had this one before- $45.00

27. 1960's Phillipine made patch for the 9th Marine Expedtionary Brigade, original and from vet- $65.00

29. Japanese made patch for submarine USS Sculpin, This patch was from US Navy Commander Lloyd "Pete" Bucher, I bought the patch from his wife Rose about 3 years ago.- $75.00-SOLD!

30. Not Vietnam era, but an 80's vintage Korean made patch for SEAL TEAM 6, currently the most famous SEAL outfit going, after going after Bin Laden and "bringing home the bacon"! - $85.00

31. Presentation plaque to 4 Star Admiral Ulysses S. Grant Sharp Jr. from the Commander in Chief of the Royal Thai Navy. Sharp was Commander in Chief, US Forces, Pacific from 1964-68, resposnsible for the build up in Vietnam on a strategic level, A Nam era equivalent to Dwight D. Eisenhower, basically the guy General William Westmoreland called "Boss". - $100.00

32. This plaque is from Admiral Sharp's estate, from Malaysia, neat design with the crossed kris swords. Sharp's name is not on the plaque but I'll be happy to provide a letter. - $75.00

34. Another plaque to Admiral Sharp from the Chief of Staff of the Phillipine Armed Forces- this one is just plain pretty.- $100.00

35. US Made factory patch for Douglas A-4 Skyhawk.- $75.00

36. Airship Devron 11, ZX-11, 1960's US made- $75.00-SOLD!

37. A vintage UDT 22 necklace, chain is 24" long. Made of gold tone metal, probably a sweetheart piece. - $75.00-SOLD!

38. A UDT Team 12 Da Nang pocket patch, off uniform. This is an extremely rare Japanese made Team patch, 4" diameter. This is on a rarity level next to a SOG Team patch, not a Saigon made example. -$800.00-SOLD!

39. A presentation plaque for UDT Team 11, period US made, cast metal UDT insignia on oak plaque, brass plate reads "The only easy day was yesterday UDT 11". - $200.00--SOLD

40. Viet machine made SEAL TEAM ONE pocket patch, condition is great, haven't seen one in a long time- $350.00-SOLD!

42. A group of plaques to SEAL/UDT Lt. Commander Walter Otte, only one has a nameplate dated from 1972. The MACV Naval Advisory Group plaque is a little dinged up but it does provide evidence of Otte serving in Vietnam. The insignia on the named plaque has a crack in it.- 125.00 for the entire group.-SOLD

43. A UDT Team 12 Presentation plaque, US made, UDT insignia looks like a plaster casting and it has a repair across the bottom. The plaque itself is solid walnut. Named to RM3 Gary R. Smith, from the officers and men of UDT 12, 12-3-65 to 4-10-67.Smith served a total of 32 months on Vietnam, logging 257 combat missions in places like the Rung Sat Special Zone.
He rose to the rank of Master Chief during his 5th tour in country. One of the most famous SEALS involved in the Vietnam War- $1200.00-SOLD!

44. A SEABEE presentation plaque made from a piece of tail rotor, made in Chu Lai, presented in 1969.  Great artwork, condition is excellent! - $275.00-SOLD!

45. Vietnamese handmade UDT/SEAL patch- "My Life For Freedom"- 5 3/4" tall, some of the best Vietnamese hand embroidery I've ever seen. - $500.00-SOLD!
