7. This is an amazing collection- around 440 authentic period buttons for tiger stripe uniforms, all different types, stored in a nice utility case. The buttons are from the Richard Johnson collection who ultimately took his over 500 piece collection of tiger stripe garments and analyzed patterns and frequency of patterns rarities and wrote the book on the subject. He eventually sold his entire collection of tiger stripe at a private auction and the terribly distressed and unusually small garments that remained were disassembled and cut up into 3 inch by 3 inch pieces for the quilt on page 260 of his book. The buttons and the tiger stripe parts were purchased from Richard at which point it took the collector who owns this collection two full years to sort the buttons by similarity. Each button was sorted by color, Then by depth, width, hole size for the attachment holes, Smooth holes, ruff drilled, smooth cast, outside ridge, etc. there is a button for every pattern Richard ever owned. And the only replacement buttons in the world. If you wanted one authentic button to repair a tiger uniform you'd probably pay about $10.00 per button, if you could find one. This entire collection is being offered for $1800.00.
8. A pair of Duck

10. From the Sgt. Richard Denis Johnson collection is a group of Tiger Stripe uniform parts. Richard held a private auction of his collection of over 500 garments and all the distressed and undesirable small garments that remained after the auction were dismantled to cut up for 3 x 3 squares to create the beautiful quilt on page 260 of his TIGER PARTS II book. The remaining parts were put away in a box with buttons, collars, belt loops, etc. The parts were sorted and matched over a two year period. The inventory is as follows: 131 matched pockets with matching flaps. 19 pocket flaps only. 2 epaulets.13 zippers and parts from a JWD flight suit that was dismantled and cut up. 20 matched sets/pairs of shirt cuffs. 192 belt loops, sorted into matching sets of 7. 28 collars. 14 waist adjustment tabs. All of the pockets and flaps have been sorted by pattern and by matching sets. You will find two matching pockets with correct facing bellows in each set, with matching flaps. All parts are sorted by Tiger pattern and inventoried. This would be a great group if someone wanted to service the market for the next 20 years, or would be a real find for a "cutting edge" sportswear manufacturer. -$1800.00
11. A fighting knife by C and S Cutlery, 7" blade. Looks to have been sharpened, condition is overall excellent with original sheath. As a point of interest the collector who this jacket belonged to had taken the inflatable bladder out for inspection (which is quite a job), and the serial numbers on the bladder match the numbers on the label. Sometimes they don't, as the bladders could become damaged and then be replaced. Also included a set of ERDL camoflage poplin trousers, size medium regular.
