Vietnam War Reference Books, Autographs, Photos, and Ephemera

1. "Tiger Patterns" by Richard Johnson, Vol. 2. This is a "handmade" version of his book, produced in very small numbers in 1991. This particular copy is a collectable in its own right, being signed bt the author, and number 116. I acquired this book at SOS about 5 years ago and it has been a very useful reference.  The book has over 150 pages, and features laid in color photographs. If you are just starting out collecting Tiger Stripes, or are an advanced collector this book is essential. - $250.00

2. "Combat Swimmer Insignia Collector's Newsletter" Approximately 175 pages, Volumes 1 - 16. Covers combat swimmers insignia of all countries. Originally printed in the early 1990's, I don't think many copies exist today due to the small number of members in the group, looks like it never exceeded 25 members at any one time. - $250.00

3. "Knives of the US Special Forces" by Tom Clinton. Used - Very Good. Oversize 3-Ring Binder. . Very good condition; edges, corners, and covers of book show minor wear. No underlining; no highlighting; no internal markings. Softcovers are lightly sunned at edges. Internals are pristine. 46 pages. Contains accurate detailed line drawings of knives attributed to Special Forces that were actually in his collection. Invaluble reference. 1997.- $200.00"

4. "Navy Divers SEAL Fleet Diver EOD" an early 70's US Navy Recruiting booklet, 16 pages, all color, some great photos in this boolet- $25.00

5. "United States Coastal And River Forces in Vietnam"- by Cecil B. Smythe Jr. 44 page collector reference booklet covering Brown Water Navy and Mobile Riverine patches- $25.00

6. "Camoflage"- Headquarters, Dept. of the Army, 1968. 104 pages, covering camoflage for the individual, aircraft, vehicles, buildings, more- $45.00

7. "Be Nice" by Ken Melvin- 100 pages, poems and cartoons about the GI Experience in Vietnam. Light water damage on first 35 pages, contents still completely legible- $25.00

8. " US Army Special Forces Insignia Booklet" by James Sweder. Soft cover, 36 pages- black and white depictions of SF and SOG insignia, out of print and collectable- a good place to start if you don't own Sutherland's book- LS- $30.00

9. "Vietnam Order of Battle" by Shelby Stanton- classic reference work, units broken down form divisions on down. Good depictions of insignia- 396 pages, 1986 Galahad Books edition- $45.00

10. "Small Arms of the World"- Ezell's 12th edition. 904 pages, detailed coverage of small arms of all nations. Excellent condition. - $45.00

11. "US Army Uniforms of the Vietnam War" by Shelby Stanton. Stackpole 1st edition w/ dust jacket. 246 pages, photos, illustrations. The best Vietnam uniform reference I've seen. A "must have" on your reference shelf- $35.00

12. "Handbook for US Forces in Vietnam"- by MACV. Dec. 1968. 223 pages, small soft bound pamphlet. A mini encyclopedia, everything from VC spider holes to boats, tanks, ships, and aircraft. Very scarce in an original printing- $75.00

13. "T Gram 1971"- original Nam era cruise book for the USS Ticonderoga. Complete rosters of officers and men, extensive photos. Aviation units by squadron. Condition is excellent- 269 pages- $85.00

14. "The 1st Air Cavalry Division- Vietnam- August 1965 to December 1969." Massive 269 page orignal unit history of this iconic unit. Minor foxing on front and back endpapers otherwise excellent condition. Broken down by unit, lots of color and black and white photography. Includes 9 original "1st Team" stickers that came with the book- $85.00

15. Original Manual printed in 1970 "Special Forces Combat Recon Manual Republic of Vietnam" prepared by Project (B-52) Delta, HQ NhaTrang. 32 pages. - $45.00

16. Original Vietnamese sheet music printed in 1965, possibly lamenting the death of a Vietnamese Air Force pilot- $35.00

32. Vietnam US Army Combat Insignia." By Cecil B. Smythe. 29 pages. Examine the state of the hobby in 1983. Some of the images are hand inserted photocopies. The Recon Team section is very interesting, some good stuff, some bad stuff, some ugly stuff. Great collectable pamphlet.- $25.00-SOLD!
